Sonia Beauchamp is a writer and healing artist on the North Shore of Oahu. Through poetry, she seeks to explore the dualities of existence in a search for unity and understanding in a polarized world. Her work often challenges the concept of heteronormative constraints, particularly in marriage and parenthood.
The daughter of a Chinese immigrant, Sonia also uses writing as a means to explore her multiracial Asian-American upbringing in the Deep South.
Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Sonia moved to Hawaii to study Lomilomi massage and traditional Hawaiian healing. She owns a massage clinic near Haleiwa, where she lives with her husband and two children.
When Sonia's not writing, you'll find her surrounded by feral chickens, hiking a ridge trail, or spinning a staff. Are you a like-minded artist wanting to collaborate? Contact Sonia by using the form on the sidebar.
