PhilosophySonia believes that the psychological aspect of healing is just as important as Western medical science. Spirituality, along with the unique narrative beliefs of each individual, shape that person's ability to achieve wellness. Unfortunately, Western medicine often dismisses the importance of this relationship.
BackgroundSonia has a BA in Psychology from the University of Hawaii at West Oahu in addition to over twenty years of experience as a massage therapist. She completed her undergraduate thesis on the use of guided meditation and visualization to treat chronic pain. Sonia is also a certified Transformative Meditation instructor and breathwork coach.
In 2008, Sonia became an ordained minister of natural healing in order to preserve her right to use a holistic approach to massage and bodywork. She hopes to provide mutual support towards health and wholeness to those who are at odds with or lack a traditional faith-based community.
